Your Daily Acne Checklist
So this might be the best post that we have made for helping those with acne. There is so much conflicting information that overload the acne sufferer so we have decided to release a basic daily checklist of things that you can do to improve your acne. This is not an all inclusive list and there might be some methods that you are using that work for you but everything on this list works and if you stick to it that it can really help your acne. So here is your daily routine:
- Start the day with a healthy breakfast. Try to avoid white bread and this is heavily processes and leaves toxins and free radicals in the blood. Have a glass of fresh fruit juice as this contains vitamins that can help improve the skins health. Drink plenty of water. Getting hydrated at the beginning of the day will not only flush out some of those nasty toxins but will hydrate the skin and give you energy for exercise which will will talk about later.
- Morning acne fash wash. We recommend that you use an approved acne treatment but if you do not have one yet than you can use a non-fragranced gentle soap wash. This will get rid of some of the excess sebum on your skin
- Snack on Fruit. Snacking on fruit instead of chips or chocolate will improve the health of your skin (and not just your skin). It is true that a bad diet will not cause acne but there is evidence that it can make it worse
- Healthy Lunch. Again, avoiding processed or greasy foods can help both your skin and your body’s immune system to fight acne on its own so give it a go.
- Excercise. Doing some exercise can relieve stress which is an aggravator of acne. If you feel that you are not stressed then exercise can still help because it improves circulation which gets blood to the skin and stops it dieing and clogging your pores with dead skin cells
- Drink Plenty of water. All through the day you should be drinking plenty of water. This is the easiest and cheapest way to improve the health of your skin and thus reduce your acne. By mid-afternoon you should be up to at least 6 glasses of water and maybe more if your exercise was vigorous
- Evening face wash. This is your second and final face wash of the day. You should not wash more than twice as that will irritate the skin and over-dry it. Like the morning wash, we recommend an acne treatment but gentle soap will do for now.
- Evening Meal. By now you will be pretty hungry but try to avoid the fatty greasy food that your body will crave after a day of healthy eating an exercise. Grill some chicken or some meaty fish (fish oil is great for the skin and is one of the best foods you can eat to improve acne). If you eat enough healthy proteins then the craving for fatty foods will go away, even if it doesn’t feel that way when you are buying the food.
- Never Pick play or pop your acne symptoms. This is the single most difficult thing to do for an acne sufferer but it is also probably the #1 reason you still have acne. You need to avoid touching your acne at all costs. Do whatever it takes. Even punch yourself in the leg if you need to because your acne will NEVER go away until you stop playing with it.
Some people will find this plan easier to stick to than others but I challenge all of you to give it a go just for a month. Be really disciplined. Say to yourself that the month starts on a specific date (preferably today but if not select a day next week when this will start and then start on that day)
If you fail to stick to this routine it is probably because you think that it will not clear your acne so why bother putting in the effort. This routine WILL improve your acne if you stick to it for a month or your money back (OK, we haven’t charged for this information but plenty of people have and they all offer a money a back guarantee which no-one will claim). If you can avoid touching your acne and lead a healthy lifestyle drinking plenty of water and only washing twice a day your acne WILL get better and might even completely clear (and you will feel so much better too).
This routine will work but how much it works depends on which acne treatment you use. To see which acne treatment came top you can visit our best acne treatment page.
